How is such milk produced? In the production process, the enzyme lactase is added from our milk, which breaks down the milk sugar lactose into simpler sugars (glucose and galactose). These simpler sugars are already directly digestible by humans, even with the aforementioned intolerance. Because of the split sugars, the milk has a sweeter taste than regular cow's milk.
